Materials available:  Stainless Steel series stock available is 304, 304L 316, 316L, 321 and 430(magnetic). Standard finishes ranging from #2B mill finish (annealed, pickled, and bright cold road), abrasive belt finishes (80-320), and polished high end mirror finishes.  If you are welding, you may require a low carbon (L) version to avoid harmful carbide precipitation.  Etched Metal also works with various carbon steels such as cold & hot rolled and galvanized steel. Stainless Steel is one of the most commonly used alloy steel to give greater strength and durability without increasing weight to your tag, label, and name plate. It offers a good corrosion resistance too many chemicals corrodents found in industrial setting and atmospheres. This “heavy duty” low rust prohibiting material offers a non-magnetic, austenitic benefit to your name plate.  This material can be chemically etched, screened & digitally printed and machined through several CNC milling operations.  
 
Chemical etching stainless steel offers a permanent copy or image into the metal.  Controlled acids are used to dissolve the metal in desired areas and shapes. Chemical etching removes multi-layer of material in depths of .0015” -.008” to show the desired copy or shapes.  Once the layers have been removed, the next process is to determine a cosmetic look to the alloy.  A natural look called “NO FILL” give a contrast of the stainless steel. Most often a color(s) are selected to enhance your graphic presentation.  We can add protective coatings or films to protect the surface from scratches, solvents, UV fading, and environmental elements. Depending on the application used, you may require the plate to be passivated.  Passivation is the removal of iron and contaminates on the surface and forms a protective oxide layer for greater rust-resistance. 
 
 

Screen printing stainless steel offers a strong, reliable process with a wide array of colors to support your graphic presentation. Your image or information is printed on the surface of the steel.  We can add protective coatings or films to protect the surface from scratches, solvents, UV fading, and environmental elements.
 
Digital Printing offers the ability to print variable information, full color images with half tones. It provides a cost effective way to manufacture a nameplate. When digitally printing on stainless steel, we have to treat the surface with a coating in order for the inks to adhere. We can apply additional protective coatings or films to protect the surface from scratches, solvents, UV fading, and environmental elements. This process is often used for small quantity runs. It is also used if a full color image or logo must be incorporated.

Stainless Steel is best used when a heavy duty, corrosion resistance, requirement is need to protect against many chemicals corrodents found in industrial setting and atmospheres. It is versatile to all industries and product identification requirements. Thin stainless steel is found to be ideal for control panels, instrument panel, or asset tags.  Stainless steel offers many options for sizing, custom shapes, serializing with variable information, engraving and machining. This material CAN’T BE ANODIZED.
